Sorry for the post delay. My lady and I just finished moving into our first home without roommates and getting all unpacked and setup. Much more time can be devoted to posting on this blog and completing this 2nd paper.
A few things have happened recently in the crazy world of science. For starters the "APEX Telescope Large Area Survey of the Galaxy" (ATLASGAL) was finished this week. The APEX telescope in Chile has now given us the sharpest picture yet of the Galactic Plane visible from the southern hemisphere. These new maps cover an area 4 times larger then their first survey and are of much higher quality.
Scientists have reformulated glass to have the strength of steel and be just as difficult to scratch. While not completely unbreakable, the cell phone industry is sure to benefit from these discoveries. If you would like to learn more about this work, their findings were published in the journal Scientific Reports
“IBM Watson A.I. XPRIZE: A Cognitive Computing Competition,” will be looking to teams from around the world to solve some of our most challenging world problems by helping to develop and demonstrate how human beings can use, and work with, powerful cognitive technologies.
A lot more science news to catch up on, but alas I must return to work. Thank you so much for sticking around with me while Life does it's crazy thing.
